Situated on Cat Ba Island, 50km to the east of Hai Phong City, in Northern Viet Nam, Cat Ba National Park now comprises of 15,200ha in total including 9,800ha of mountain area and 5,400ha of marine area.
Many archaeological sites, Ha Long cultural vestiges and the mark of the old Vietnamese were found here. The plant system consists of 620 species including 123 valuable families; the fauna system comprises of 20 species of mammal, 69 species of bird, 20 species of reptile and amphibian, especially Trachypithecus poliocephalus (Vooc dau trang) living in cliffs. Cat Ba Sea contains 300 species of fish, 500 species of mollusc and crustacean, among which a number of species are used to make valuable handicraft products.
Cat Ba Island was recognized by UNESCO as World Biosphere Reserve on 19 December 2004. Nowadays, Cat Ba still attracts visitors by its pristine beauty and legends of its history and culture.
Day 1: Ha Noi – Hai Phong – Cat Ba
From Hanoi, you take a car to Hai Phong. After 2 hours, you arrive at Ben Binh harbour then one hour to Cat Ba by hydrofoil boat. Have lunch on the Island.
In the afternoon, we take small boats to Monkey island. On Lan Ha bay, we will go kayaking. Stop at the beach for swimming in the blue pure water. Enjoy dinner with seafood and stay overnight on the boat or in a tent on the beach.
Day 2: Cat Ba National Park
Breakfast on the boat. Arrive at Gia Luan harbour, and then we will get on bus to visit Cat Ba National Park, trekking through the Chan Chau cave to explore this wonderful place. Have lunch at a local family in Cat Ba.
At 14h30, you will take the hydrofoil boat back to Ha Long then to Ha Noi.
Arrival in Hanoi around 17h30. End of service.
